More Star Wars, Marvel and Disney classics are coming to the toys-to-life adventure series, as revealed at the D23 convention
Disney held its annual D23 convention this weekend and along with announcing exciting news like an expansion to Disney theme parks focused on Star Wars, the company revealed several new figures, modes and more for its third entry in the Disney Infinity series, which launches on August 30.
Two figures from upcoming movie Zootopia (pictured) will be joining the cast as well as a character from another upcoming film, The Good Dinosaur. In addition, the ultimate unlock (unlocked by having every figure leveled up to at least level one) was revealed to be the Keyblade sword from Kingdom Hearts. Lastly, a 4-player co-op mode for Marvel was announced.
Fans in attendance also walked away with an exclusive power disc that will change Mickey into King Mickey. The disc will not be sold at retail and is already fetching upwards of $200 on Ebay.
Perhaps the most exciting news is that the fan-voted figure, which will make its way to the franchise in approximately one year, was revealed to be Peter Pan.

• Co-stars John Boyega and Daisy Ridley of Star Wars™ The Force Awakens surprised guests on stage and gave away their character figures, Finn and Rey, for the upcoming Play Set based on the film.
• A new set of limited edition Light FX Star Wars™ character figures were unveiled. Available this holiday, these figures have Lightsabers™ that light up when placed onto the Disney Infinity Base. Figures include Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader from the Star Wars™ Rise Against the Empire Play Set, as well as Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Star Wars™ Twilight of the Republic Play Set and Kanan Jarrus from Star Wars™ Rebels.
• Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition’s ultimate unlock was unveiled during the presentation. Players who unlock all of the Disney Infinity figures in the game’s Hall of Heroes will unlock the Keyblade from the SQUARE ENIX® KINGDOM HEARTS franchise.
• Guests who attended the Hall D23 presentation received a special Kingdom Hearts Mickey Costume Power Disc that unlocks a one-of-a-kind costume of King Mickey for Disney Infinity’s Mickey Mouse character. This exclusive item will not be sold at retail.
• New details about the upcoming Disney Infinity Marvel Play Set were unveiled, including the Play Set’s name, “Marvel Battlegrounds” and that it will feature the first four-player local co-op available in-game. The Play Set will launch in Spring 2016.
• Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia and Spot from Disney•Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur will be joining the all-star Disney Infinity figure lineup, and playable in the Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition’s Toy Box mode. Zootopia and The Good Dinosaur themed Power Disc Packs will also be available.
• Earlier this week, we hosted this year’s Toy Box Summit at the Disneyland® Resort and met with the talented Toy Box Artists who helped select one classic Disney character to add to Disney Infinity. Today, we revealed that the character is Peter Pan and this character will be released approximately one year from now as the “Toy Box Artists Choice.”
